SHIN SOMATICS® VIRTUAL STUDIO is committed to bringing balance and joy to movement, dance, and yoga.

We offer a broad range of classes for EveryBody in online experiences.

 

Whether you are new to Somatics or have been practicing for years, our classes are designed for  all levels and backgrounds. 

 

Shin Somatics® identifies the methods of Eastwest Somatics Institute: Start where you are. Learn as you do, and Progress with ease.


Classes are offered at an introductory rate of $22/per class. Occasional 'Open House' events will be presented at no cost to allow guests to experience the Eastwest Virtual Studio community.

*A recording is provided to all registrants within 48 hours. Live participation is not required but encouraged.

This online, home-study course is designed to prepare aspiring yoga teachers to lead classes in a variety of settings.

This program is open to everyone, offering a comprehensive and flexible approach that welcomes participants from all over the world, regardless of experience.

This program is more than just a certification; it’s an inspiring path to personal and professional growth in somatic yoga.

Curriculum Highlights The program emphasizes experiential learning and provides deep engagement with somatic principles and practices. Key areas of study include: Land to Water Yoga Adaptive Chair Yoga Yoga Flow through Somatic Education Restorative Yoga for Trauma Yoga Techniques and Philosophy Experiential Yoga Anatomy Yoga Teaching Methods, Somatic Leadership, and Interpersonal Communication You’ll also gain hands-on experience with student teaching opportunities to build confidence in your teaching abilities.

Program Details Schedule: Classes typically meet twice per week in English. Sessions are held on Mondays (7–9 PM EST) and Thursdays (5:30–7 PM EST), with occasional additional dates for special events. Inclusivity: Non-native English speakers can participate comfortably by enabling captions and selecting translation into their preferred language. Requirements: Device to connect via Zoom, reliable Wi-Fi, a yoga mat, blocks, and a quiet space to practice.

Additional Components Alongside live classes, your yoga journey will be enriched with videos, readings, writing assignments, and creative projects to reinforce your learning.

Broader Opportunities Students have the option to enhance their experience by attending additional Virtual Studio programs, conferences, workshops, and training sessions with Eastwest.

Experience the unique blend of Land to Water Yoga, a somatic practice rooted in infant movement patterns and human development. This form of yoga is accessible to everyone, promoting conscious movement and fluid transitions that mimic the properties of water and find footing on land. This gentle yet powerful practice enhances your flexibility, strength, and inner calm.

Unleash your creativity and connect deeply with your body through Intuitive Dance Processes such as Contact Unwinding and Depth-Movement Dance and Art. These classes encourage spontaneous movement guided by inner sensations and emotions. Without strict choreography, you are free to express tension and find joy in the rhythm of your body. This liberating practice enhances self-awareness in relation to others and the life world.

Dive into the transformative world of Butoh, an avant-garde dance form originating from Japan. This practice draws upon introspective themes, encouraging participants to explore subconscious life in ordinary and unfamiliar movement.
